For the final time we are in position and ready to go! Final time - Silver Ferns v Australia.
A few not-so-fun facts...
Australia has won five of the six World Cup finals contested between NZ and Australia since finals were introduced to the tournament format in 1991.
The Diamonds have won nine of the last 10 meetings between the two transtasman rivals
Booooo I'm not interested in your not-so-fun facts
Fun fact...the Silver Ferns won the most recent meeting 52-47
The Silver Ferns have been receiving messages of support from all over the place...
ohhhh goodness, the EMCee is about to welcome the teams out
Here are the Aussies and the roar is deafening.
Land Down Under is their walk on song (cliche)
The Ferns are considered the "home team" for this match as they beat Aussie in pool play, so the Ferns enter the arena second.
Kopua wins the toss, Ferns fans roar again.
Obviously the organisers weren't expecting the Ferns to have the superior record in pool play as they've allocated the Aussie supporters seats behind the home bench, and the Ferns supporters seats behind the away bench.
The Ferns shooters getting into their warm-ups now. They're looking sharp.
AUS getting into some early high five action after their warm-up run. Ferns shooters at the post, ball work for the the rest of NZ team.
Cath Cox is about to talk through the two line-ups again..it did wonders for the Ferns last time!
A smidge more circumspect this time is Coxy!
There at least 30 past Silver Ferns, coaches and managers here at the game, from Dame Lois through to Irene and just about everyone in between!
The umpires for this match will be Gary Burgess (ENG) and Dave Brown (JAM)
Burgess did the pool game between these teams. The English umpires tend to be a bit more like kiwi ones - a bit stricter on the defence.
Burgess also controlled the 2010 Comm Games final....
Uh oh...the inflatable Gilbert netball that was being batted around the crowd has bounced off the head of one of the Australian management and landed on the court. Security has removed it. I suspect we won't see that ball again
High five games of both teams is on point so far. Ferns have finished their warm-up, t-shirts are off and the bibs about to be handed out by coach Wai Taumaunu.
She and Vicki Wilson have passed them to each player with a quiet word. Wilson chatting to her attackers.
@meg: Yes I believe so, 7pm.
Tutaia sitting alone on the bench. She often likes her own time just before a game.
