The Hurricanes stretched the Blues from flank to flank and in the end something had to give. Barrett slots the conversion. Hurricanes back infront.
Back-to-back fours from Morgan to end the 26th over. England now need 58.
Ten mins to go in the first half, Blues back on the attack now.
The most action of England's innings has been the confiscation of a beach ball by security guards. The move was roundly booed before a 'give us the ball back' chant errupted. I think the attention the incident has been given by the crowd sums up this game rather well.
Both sides look dangerous with ball in hand. It's been a ping pong battle of attack and counter attack for a few minutes, with strong defence from both teams.
Five to go .. Blues 8 Hurricanes 13
I don't want to say 'high octane rugby', but the first half has been exciting.
The opposite of the cricket, then.
Conrad Smith gets the big fend out and the Hurricanes go close, but once again the Blues defence is rock solid.
The Hurricanes are deserving of their five point lead. They have an advantage at scrumtime and are really putting the pressure on the Blues' pack.
The halftime hooter sounds but the Blues have been awarded a penalty.
Weepu is going to have a go. "He's at the extent of his range." So it's a big kick.
Just inside halfway and Weepu nails it. What a kick!
That kick trims the Hurricanes halftime lead to two points.
Halftime: Hurricanes 13 Blues 11
It's a narrow lead and this match is very much in the balance. Both sides have shown impressive speed out wide and power through the middle. The Hurricanes have dominated at scrumtime and looked to have the best of the early battles. If I had any money it would probably go on the Hurricanes, but my lukewarm hunches are one of the major reasons I have no money.
At the second drinks break, England need 33 from 19 (overs).
Talk to me Kris, is there anyone still at Eden Park?
A surprisingly large portion of the crowd has remained to wait for the inevitable. But it must be said they are finding alternative forms of entertainment. Not too sure how many are actually watching the cricket.
A six from Morgan leaves England needing 19. The end is nigh.
The second half is underway. Hurricanes lead by two points and are under pressure early.
A fine catch from Mills on the fine leg boundary gets ride of Morgan.
Running back, Mills leaps and snaffles the ball high above his head before somehow stopping short of the boundary rope.
Morgan departs for 39 from 24, England are on 168-4.
The Blues have a lineout close to the line and are putting the Hurricanes under a heap of pressure,
But they cough it up. Superb defence from the Hurricanes, they stay strong and compact and wait for the mistake and sure enough the loose pass came.
In Dunedin, the Warriors took a 2-0 lead into halftime of their pre-season match at the Broncos. Sounds enthralling. Highlight of the match was apparently Ruben Wiki tackling a streaker at the break.
Rene Ranger dances through tackles like a young Doug Howlett. Blues on attack..
The Black Caps are adding an element of respectability to this match, with Southee now getting Jos Buttler.
Buttler tried to hook but a top edge sent it straight up and a scrambling BJ Watling took a nice catch,
Weepu, Noakes then Braid all have a pop at the line...
England are on 171-5. They need 15.
Now through the backs and TRY TIME
Charles Piutau touches down and the Blues are back infront.
