Auckland coach Tribulietx, who has produced a defensive tactical masterclass in this tournament, now needs to change things up. Auckland will have to go chasing the game now, which will open up more counter attacking chances for San Lorenzo.
We are back underway as Auckland go searching for an equaliser with an early attack down the right wing through Ryan De Vries.
Nothing comes from it though and San Lorenzo are quickly on the counter attack. Their pacey striker Cauteruccio breaks through the middle and has a great chance, but John Irving matches him stride for stride and executes a perfect slide tackle to clear the danger.
He had to get that just right, otherwise it was a red card and a penalty, and the Englishman nailed it. So important that Auckland don't concede early here. If Auckland can get something out of this game, they will look back on that tackle as a turning point.
A chance opens up for De Vries on the edge of the box, but the ref pulls up Tade for obstruction. Tade showed some neat feet around the box there to create the opportunity, but then got a little too physical off the ball.

Auckland win the ball in midfield but once again turn back instead of quickly moving the ball forward. San Lorenzo are able to re-group and Auckland eventually give the ball away. As the game wears on Auckland will need to start getting more adventurous with their possession.
San Lorenzo beginning to look comfortable at 1-0. They are dropping deep now, forcing Auckland to create something. So far, Auckland have struggled to do so.
San Lorenzo give the ball away cheaply and Tade runs at the back four. That's exactly what Auckland need. Tade took the ball bast San Lorenzo's right back Mas, who brought him down, earning a yellow card in the process.
But Payne wastes the free kick, blasting the ball low at the wall before it's easily cleared. Those are the chances Auckland really need to do better with.

Now it's San Lorenzo's turn to show their free kick ability. Irving climbed all over and Argentinian striker on the edge of the box and gave away a chance in a dangerous area..
Kanneman has a clear header on goal, but he drifts it aimlessly over. And he was offside. Auckland are still in it.

The delivery is good, but Auckland can't get a head to it and as San Lorenzo break on the counter attack Berlanga hacks the Argentinian striker down. Berlanga receives a yellow card and will miss Auckland's next match.

Tade slipped a clever through ball behind the back four for De Vries to run onto. He tried to take the ball past the on-rushing San Lorenzo goalkeeper, but the ball squirmed out to the side of the box. Berlanga was first to react and squeezed the ball home from the narrowest of angles. GAME ON!
What a game we have on our hands now. Before the goal, Auckland were starting to grow in confidence and create a few good chances, and it will be interesting to see if they continue to attack, or sit back in and opt for a more defensive approach.
Twenty minutes left in the semi-final of the Club World Cup and Auckland are level with the best team in South America.

Tade has just wasted a golden opportunity for Auckland. De Vries broke down the right hand side and played the ball square inside for Tade, who found himself 1v1 with the goalkeeper. But his shot squirmed off the side of his boot well wide. What a chance that was to win it.
