Just a pretty poor 40 minutes from the All Blacks. Two senior players sent to the bin for the All Blacks in McCaw and Conrad Smith, the Smith decision probably a bit harsh. The All Blacks have been trying to build some structure but Argentina haven't allowed them to with some quick and strong defence. Can Argentina keep up with that pace for the second half? That's the big question. Argentina also might look back on the decision to take a shot a goal when Smith went to the big. New Zealand were down to 13 men then and it was a great chance for Argentina to cross over for a second time. They would have had an 8-on-7 scrum with an extra man out wide. Instead they got the three points and the All Blacks went down the other end to kick a penalty of their own.
All Blacks 168 Argentina 200
Joaquin Tuculet 47
Ben Smith 38
Leonardo Senatore 36
All Blacks 57 Argentina 50
Owen Franks 6
All Blacks 15 Argentina 13
The second half is underway and Richie McCaw is back on the field for the All Blacks.
Still no Conrad Smith though and Argentina have early possession, digging away inside the All Blacks 22.
The Pumas try a clever kick and chase, Aaron Smith is back to recover but New Zealand are pinged for offside.
PENALTY TO ARGENTINA! Sanchez will kick for goal from right in front.
He doesn't miss. Argentina increase their lead.
43 MINS: ALL BLACKS 12 ARGENTINA 16
All Blacks on the attack now. Carter swings the ball to Nonu but he loses it forward.
It's a bit helter skelter from the All Blacks. The rhythm is not there, but they are against a very solid Argentina defence.
Hansen rings the changes. SBW is on for Nonu and Crockett is on for Woodcock.
Can SBW make the difference that the All Blacks need?
All Blacks have controlled possession 22m out.
Into their 9th phase now.
Oh dear. SBW had just the impact that NZ needed, breaking through on the right flank before delivering a perfect back handed offload to Milner-Skudder right on the line. And he dropped it.
That one hurt for All Blacks fans. It looked a sure thing. Milner Skudder has been good today too, he will need to quickly get over that.
Conrad Smith is back on the field for NZ and Argentina have a scrum 5m out from their own line.
PENALTY TO ARGENTINA! Wayne Barnes blows in Argentina's favour again.
