Gawd there is soo much messing about - courts, cheating, cancellations, postponements, terminations, too little wind, too much wind and now looming threats of more court action. Would someone please win this thing already!

Surely if the committee can make a new rule of 10knots when the limit is 5, they could also make a new time limit of 45mins which would have been enough.......?

What TV. Went into sorts bar in LA yesterday to watch races and with over 20 channels on....not one with the races on. Puts the whole thing into perspective folks

Not sure then Derm. The America's Cup website says: "In the U.S. the racing can be viewed on the NBC Sports Network. It will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network until the conclusion of racing."

Maybe the US doesn’t deserve the America’s Cup again. I live in San Francisco and have been a dedicated fan supporting our “local” Team Oracle. Last night I was shocked that our ABC “national” news broadcast didn’t even mention Oracle achievements and perseverance to keep the America’s going, but reserved the air time to mention that a +60 year old women with her 30 year old baseball glove caught a random foul ball at a Cleveland Indians game and mention Oprah’s near nervous breakdown. Not one word on the America’s Cup! AmAzing!

Hopefully when we win it, we can add a ruling about crew members nationality. It would be nice to see some people from the country the boat represents.

NBC Sports only signed up for TV through Saturday. There was NO coverage yesterday, at the sports bar, on my cable channel. Had to follow NZHerald from California!

Dear Ian Murray, As you can make a judgement decision to increase the lower wind limit, why not leave it at 5knots and extend the time limit to 1 hour? we want to see racing, even if we are leading by 1700 metres. Yours, the NZ public

In the US, it's mostly about MONEY , and so EXCLUSIVE TV Rights...apparently NBC has the right and they decide to show recent races ONLY on their PAID channel NBC Sports Network, rather than the FREE NBC Channel...Living in USA, I have found that here MONEY sometimes override PUBLIC interest...Anyway, GO GO ETNZ...

Enjoying the spectacle, recently thrilling racing and Kiwi spirit here in SF! Speaking for many of us, though we would love the event to remain/return most of us just cannot stomach L. Ellison. And I can't wait to get back to visit NZ! This is tough!!!

must echo the other Americans here who have been disappointed at the coverage over here... can't help but root for my home country, but I have appreciated following this blog because of the enthusiasm and spirit of the fans. Ironic that I have to follow NZ Herald live blog when I'm just a few miles from the actual race on the water

Originally I said I wanted to see this go to the end so I could enjoy more great sailing but now I've changed my mind. NZ needs to win it in the next two races to claim that they won the cup regardless of the Oracle penality. With YouTube blocked at work, thank goodness for NZ Herald coverage.

Hi Robbin. In 1995 team head Peter Blake, later Sir Peter, wore red socks on board as a lucky charm. It ended up being a fairly powerful campaign with lots in NZ showing their support for Team NZ by wearing red socks.

just fyi ... I did not know til yesterday that Larry Ellison was line honours winner in the tragic 1998 Sydney to Hobart yacht race when a severe storm took six lives and five yachts, and more than 55 yacht withdrawals .. gave me for the first time just one tiny, tiny reason to have any respect for him.
